For many years, faculty members of the College of Nursing, Taipei Medical University have
taken the lead in participating in both national and international nursing associations and related
activities. They have also garnered numerous honors and awards in education, research, and
services.
Faculty members have received various national honors, such as the Department of Health,s
ROC Honor of Outstanding Nursing Contribution, Taipei Medical University Honor of Outstanding
Research, Teaching innovation and International who,s who of Professional and Business Women
for Significant Career Achievements and Contributions to Society, and Taipei Nurses Organization
Honor of Outstanding Nursing Manager, among others.
The Dean of CON, Prof. Meei-Shiow Lu, received an award from the Department of Health for
her outstanding contributions to nursing.
Students have received awards for their outstanding performance in both intramural and national
sports activities. For example, in 2003 they placed first in volleyball and second in soccer at the 43th
anniversary celebrations at the school; and the men and women,s basketball teams won the first and
second prizes at 14th University Reunion of Nursing. Other awards include the first and the third
prizes in volleyball by the men and women,s teams at the 15th University Reunion of Nursing in
2004; the first prize for basketball by the men,s team, the first prize for volleyball by the men,s team,
and the third prize for basketball by the women,s team at the 16th University Reunion of Nursing in
2005.
