According to the policy of MOE (Ministry of Education) on graduate student degree examination and TMU Meeting of the Epidemic Prevention Group on June 20th 2022.

Ⅰ.  For graduate students who already applied degree examination (graduation defense) on Spring Semester 2022 and is on the final semester of study period on Spring Semester 2022 at the same time, if students cannot hold the degree examination (graduation defense) “because of the influence of Covid-19 pandemic”, could apply extend the study period after the thesis advisor and department evaluated and agreed. The department apply through official document, and the graduate student could be extended 1 semester more if the Principle sign the official document before July 31st 2022.

Ⅱ.  The timetable of Degree Examination (Graduation Defense) on Spring Semester 2022 shall following the original schedule:

Ⅲ.  If graduate student cannot finish the degree examination “because of the influence of Covid-19 pandemic”, could apply postponement. Please fill in the attachment “Spring Semester 2022 TMU Covid-19 Precaution Period Postpone Degree Examination Application” (finish the signature) and submit to the Registration Section before 5:00 p.m. July 15th 2022.

Ⅳ.  According to the “TMU Implementation Guidelines of Master and Ph.D. Degree Examination” , the degree examination shall be physical and hold inside TMU campus. Due to the Covid-19, according to the decision from TMU Meeting of the Epidemic Prevention Group on May 16th 2022, during the TMU epidemic prevention distance learning period, or committee members and students who meet following CECC announced conditions and provide related evidence, people could attend the degree examination through video conference or mix examination (part of committees attend physical degree examination in TMU campus, the other attend through video). Those who do not belong to the above conditions shall hold the physical degree examination in TMU campus.

Ⅴ.  According to the decision from TMU Meeting of the Epidemic Prevention Group on June 20th 2022, the TMU epidemic prevention distance learning period in summer vacation is due until 31st July, 2022. The follow-up decision from Epidemic Prevention Group will be announced until further notice.

Ⅵ.  If student hold the degree examination through video conference, must be synchronized, just, fair and open. All the documents shall be signed by committee members. Department should have whole audio and video recording archive for 10 years. (according to the “TMU Implementation Guidelines of Master and Ph.D. Degree Examination” Article VI) Department shall control and provide the video degree examination student list (fill in the attached application), evidences and video of degree examination to Registration Section before 29th July, 2022. Registration Section will submit the list to Principle for approval.

Ⅶ.  The above measure only applicable for Spring Semester 2022. The follow-up decision from CECC and MOE will be announced until further notice.
